Shopping in DongDaeMoon

Shin Pyeong Hwa (신평화) Fashion Town

For shoppers who enjoy comparing and purchasing clothing that are customized to their styles and preferences Shin Pyeong Hwa Fashion Town might be a good place to stop by. Located along the Cheoung Gye Chun Stream, there is an underground four storey building that sells customized clothing. The department is, especially known, for being the largest wholesalers of socks and underwear in Korea. Cheap designer label clothing and personally designed clothing are sold within the department at noteworthy quality.
Dong Dae Moon Shopping Town

Known as one of the most sought-after shopping districts in Seoul, Dong Dae Moon is a shopaholic’s utopia as the town never sleeps; day and night stores are constantly open. Next to the Dong Dae Moon Stadium are wholesale stores such as: (the above mentioned) Shin Peong Hwa Fashion Town, New Zone, Chung Peong Hwa and a cluster of other clothing stores. On the side of the Dong Dae Moon Stadium are retail stores such as: Miglior, Doosan Town, Player Town, Helloapm; these stores attract many locals as customers have a tradition of working out “special deals” with sellers. Due to the presence of an outside stage Dong Dae Moon hosts fashion shows, various concerts, and “fun” events in which members of the audience make the stage theirs.

Chang Shin Dong Toy Store

Located near the Dong Dae Moon train station is Korea’s largest “toy” market. The market has approximately 100 stores including: various toy and stationary stores, party and event items, costumes, fireworks etc. On average the various “toy” stores in the area give customers a 30-40% discount (that is in comparison to toy stores located elsewhere) and many of the time customers are given up to 70-80% discounts. For those who wish to take a trip down memory lane or figure collectors the Dong Dae Moon toy market will definitely arouse your interest. There are no parking lots within the area, however the public transportation is all that more convenient.

Seoul Folk Market

Seoul Folk Market (풍물시장) has unique traditional items that can only be found in specific regions of Korea. Originally located in Dong Dae Moon Stadium, the market almost disappeared in 2008, however, was relocated to an area near Chung Gye Chung. All sorts of traditional everyday Korean traditional items and tourist items. For those interested in Korean antiques, Korean traditional instruments, and Korean art the folk market should be a wonderful cultural experience. Payments may also be made with credit cards.

Dong Dae Moon Old Book Store Street
The first floor of the Pyeong Hwa Store, is not famous for its fashion but instead for its bookstore. The bookstore has a history of 30 years; both old books and essays, modern new books are available in all genres. The bookstore includes a range for foreigners. The bookstore provides customers with 30-40% discounts. For all the book lovers out there Dong Dae Moon Book Store is a guarentee win. Due to the fact that the store was made in the 1970s the architecture of the store is small, however, the pleasure of finding a treasure in that space is priceless.
